In 1988 I visited in a museum in Lakeport, CA and that was when I first fell in love with baskets. I spotted a Pomo basket and knew I had to learn how this wonderful basket was made. To my surprise, upon my discovery of basketry a new exciting part of my senses came to life. From that day forward the Arts have become an extension of my being. Through which I can explore my dreams and the mysteries of my mine. I feel a sense of satisfaction as I create, and upon completion, I reflect myself unto my creation. Without this release, I am confined within myself.

My art has been exhibited in various galleries such as the Sacramento History Museum, the Banaker Gallery, the California Craft Museum in Ghiradelli Square, the Oakland Museums Collectors Gallery. I have earned best of show at the Artisans Gallery in Mill Valley, CA as well as awards of excellence for Basketry at the Conference of Northern California Hardweavers in Sacramento, CA and Pleasanton, CA.

I had the privilege of study with such fine artists as Lissa Hunter and Maxine Kirmeyer at the Kirmeyer school of fiber, and Kathleen Hubbard at the California Academy of the Sciences. Japanese basketry with Jiro Yonezawa; Knotting and Design and Jane Sauer. Paper making with Judy Mulford and Cal Ling; paper vessels with Kay Sekimachi. Indian use of native plants with Pegg Mathewson; I have participated in workshops at the Point Reyes National Seashor-Kole Loklo Village; and the Caning Shop in Berkeley, CA. Oil and acrylic painting with Vicki Loavorini and Victoria Durkin.
