

Artist Roy George, b. July 7, 1943, graduated Columbia College and retired from military service in the United States Coast Guard in 1978 (DT-1, USCG Ret.) Mr. George has been an active artist since 1969, deriving primary inspiration for his works from nautical design and marine life.
Largely self-taught in the early years of his artistic life, Roy has studied under numerous masters and has furthered his education and experience as a fine artist through post-graduate work both in classroom and real-life situations.
Roy George has shown his art in many art shows since moving to Lake County, California in 1979, including the Lake County Fair, the Lake County Arts Council, Artists of the Lake, the Lower Lake Museum, the Clearlake Art Gallery, and the Lakeport Museum of the Arts.
